Danielle Steel did a wonderful job with the storyline. The main character, Kait, was almost too perfect which got me a little skeptical because I've never heard of a character that already has a successful career, jumped into a more successful career, where she met really amazing people, and everything was falling into place. It was almost too good to be true. Overall, I enjoyed the story from start to finish and I loved every single character.

Enjoyed the book. Mother of three grown children writes a story that ends up becoming a series on TV. She gets very involved with the script, the actors, etc.

Another great novel by Danielle Steel. A little slow at the beginning but the story starts to take off as you go along so don't stop reading. Great story line and great characters with some love and a little mystery. Good work!!

Not bad novel on an over 50 protagonist in second career. I'm surprised author didn't shop around hypothetical old school TV story bible in Hollywood with wider target demographics. Fair if bit fairy-tale portrayal of behind-the-scenes Hollywood.

It appears Danielle Steel can write a book in less time than it takes me to read one. She does, However, have a formula for success and that is having the leading character a superwoman who is not only beautiful and talented but has humility too. Kate Whittier is one such woman who is quite happy writing a column for a woman's magazine until a chance meeting gets her to write a story which is turned to A TV Series. The star studded cast becomes her second family and she takes them all under her wing; with their problems, their fears, their quirks and their tragedies. Will she succeed in this role too and oh of course will she find true love? It's worth a read to find out.

Another great book! Kait finds herself wanting nore than being an advice columnist. She decides after watching Downton Abbey that she has the writers disease and writes her own series. She has an agent read her script and away she's goes. Life with her children plays into her changing her goal in life. Full of life changes makes it a great book.

Once again, Danielle Steele has written a gently paced story about a professional woman who overcomes many trials as she shifts careers and navigates changes in the lives of her grown children and ponders trying again at finding love. Kait Whittier is the successful writer of the "Ask Kait" advice column in a popular magazine. When she pens a story that mirrors the life of her beloved and very successful grandmother and sends it an agent acquaintance who views it as magical her life takes a dramatic turn. The story is to be turned into a TV series; the Wilder Women who puncture the glass ceiling in the field of aviation in the 1940s and 50s. In addition to the deep bond Kait has with her three grown children, she builds an extended family with the colorful Hollywood stars who are tapped to play roles in the series. Inevitably, the lives of the stars are as complex as those of her children with elements of tragedy impacted both while love creeps in from one of the series stars. While the formula is familiar, Steele does have a way of connecting the reader to the characters in her stories and The Cast is no exception.
